Power the room
The same narration says the current room’s sockets must be filled with gems to power it. Check occupancy before judging whether an expected beam ability is available.
Use the changed ability
The Q&A describes different beams enabling pushing, disrupting force fields and passing through walls. The available words do not establish a full color chart; match the effect shown in your version instead of relying on a guessed color assignment.
